WHS Principal Russell Sills Invited Marlon James to Windsor 4 Years Ago

Since last October, there has been a great deal written about BOE President Doreen Richardson inviting her friend Marlon James to Windsor to do an EER.  Thus, when Dr. James indicated several times at his August 29 presentations that it was Windsor High School Principal Russell Sills that invited him to Windsor several years ago, I became curious (yes, several of you have now made the connection to Curious George). 

At the BOE meeting last Tuesday, I talked to Mr. Sills in the hallway for a few moments about this.  He confirmed that he indeed first invited Dr. James to conduct a study at WHS about four years ago.  Due to lack of BOE funds, and other competing BOE initiatives, the study never got off the ground  ............ until last September when Mrs Richardson championed what became the MJLU EER.

The means by which Mrs. Richardson championed this study have been questioned by many on many fronts.  I do not get the impression that Mr. Sills was bringing anything controversial to Windsor.  Was it mostly the means by which the MJLU EER was approved that made it so controversial?
