Winter Concert at Loomis Chaffee


For Immediate Release


The Loomis Chaffee Orchestra, under the direction of Faith Miller, will present a concert, Sunday, December 15, at 2 p.m., in the performance hall of the Hubbard Music Center on the Loomis Chaffee campus. The concert is free, and all are welcome to attend.

The concert will include the Concerto Grosso in E Minor, Op. 6, No. 3, by Georg Friedrich Handel; the Andante Festivo of Jean Sibelius; the Divertimento No. 3 in F Major, K. 138, by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart;  and the Overture to The Barber of Seville by Gioachino Rossini.

Six movements from Antonio Vivaldi's Gloria will also be included on the program, featuring the voices of The Loomis Chaffee Chamber Singers, under the direction of Susan Barone Chrzanowski. A number of faculty members will also join the student singers in the performance. Senior Liana Barron will be the alto soloist in section VIII, Domine deus.
