Windsor Water Rats Express (WWRX) is a well-established local swim club and offers a wide range of opportunities for recreation and USS level swimmers for children between the ages of 5 and 18.  We aim to give our athletes every opportunity to succeed at the highest level of their capabilities.


WWRX is seeking an experienced part-time Recreation Level Swim Coach for our 8 & under swimmers to assist in the growth and development of our swimmers and club.  The candidate should strive to assist our club and swimmers to be the best that both can be; having the desire to work in all aspects of the club.  Candidates must be enthusiastic, energetic team players with a passion for swimming and team excellence, and able to work successfully with swimmers of all ages. This Coach will have strong character, integrity, desire to continue learning, and will bring deck energy, commitment, and professionalism to the position.  Strong communications skills are essential.


Responsibilities:
  1. Coach at all practices as well as all meets;
  2. Develop swimmer practice plans and track performance;
  3. Attends all coaches meetings;
  4. Attends all Board meetings;
  5. Obtain all necessary coaching credentials;
  6. Collaborate with all coaches to follow the WWRX ways (workouts and technique);
  7. Participate in all team events;
  8. Perform administrative functions including swim meet entries, parent and athlete meetings;
  9. Attend all training events required to maintain coaching qualifications, continually improve coaching skills and for club administration;
  10. Assist in communicating with the Board and parents;
  11. Must be prepared to coach additional group(s) of recreation or USS swimmers.


Qualifications & Compensation:

  1. Competitive Swimming Experience (preferred);
  2. Previous coaching experience (preferred);
  3. Able to register as a coach member in good standing with USA Swimming: Swim Coach Background Check, Athlete Protection, Safety Training for Coaches, CPR and First Aid;
  4. Must pass USA Swimming’s Required Coaching Education Requirements.
  5. Familiarity with HyTek software is a plus.
  6. Must be willing to work evenings and weekends during both the Winter and Summer seasons.
  7. Available compensation will be commensurate with experience.
