Two Tables Reunited: Oliver Ellsworth's Pair of Mahogany Card Tables

This
collaborative program will start at the Windsor
Historical Society with a talk by Curator Christina
Vida about Oliver Ellsworth’s pair of mahogany card
tables – reunited for the first time in 155 years.
The Society recently acquired one of the tables at
auction and the Oliver Ellsworth Homestead has owned
the other since 1903. Learn about their
construction, function, and journeys since leaving
the Homestead. At 2 p.m., the program will continue
with a tour at the Oliver Ellsworth Homestead where
the two tables will be on display together.
Separated since 1857, these tables will be reunited
at the Homestead in the very room that Ellsworth
used them from the 1790s. The two tables will be on
view at the Homestead starting Friday, July 12th
through Sunday, July 28th, during the
Homestead’s regular operating hours (Fri. 12-4; Sat. 12-4; Sun. 1-4) Cost: FREE.
