The Windsor Jesters Present "Funny Money"

The Windsor Jesters are Connecticut’s oldest continuously performing

community theater group.  For the Fall
production of their 63rd season they proudly present, “Funny Money”
a hilarious British farce by Ray Cooney, one of England most well-known comedic
playwrights.  It premièred at The Churchill Theatre, London in
1994, followed by a successful two-year run in the West End. Cooney directed
his own play and also played the part of Henry Perkins. In 2006 the play was
adapted into a movie starring Chevy Chase.

Perennial nerd Henry Perkins finds that someone has switched his briefcase on the train.  Instead of containing the remains of his lunch, it contains 3.25 million pounds in used notes.  Henry decides not to look a gift horse in the mouth and goes home to grab his wife and fly away forever.  Unfortunately, his wife Jean has other plans for the evening.  Specifically, their best friends, Vic and Betty Johnson, are coming to dinner to celebrate Henry's birthday, something they do every year and Jean isn't going to stop now.  While Henry is trying to get Jean out the door, two different police detectives, on two very different missions, arrive, as well as the Johnsons and a taxi driver Henry has called to bring them to the airport.  Watching Henry spin his web of lies trying to get everyone out of the house, including him and Jean, is more fun than a barrel of monkeys.  And, just wait until Mr. Big shows up looking for his briefcase. Your stomach will hurt from laughing!!!

The show is directed by Chris Bushey of Bloomfield.  The exceptionally talented cast includes Lorrie
Bacon of East Longmeadow MA, Nate Strick of Bloomfield as well as Summer
Echelson and Eric Michaelian both of Enfield.

Troy Walcott of Hartford, Bill Mullen of Simsbury, Bruce Showalter of

Ludlow, MA and Ed Lewis of Bolton respectively make up the rest of this

spectacular cast.
