The Aurora Women and Girls Foundation: 8th Annual Breakfast, Featuring Jennifer Buffett

The Aurora Women and Girls Foundation will hold its 8th annual Signature Breakfast on Wednesday, October 16th 2013. The theme for the breakfast this year will be Power of Change: Bringing Women and Girls to the Table featuring keynote speaker Jennifer Buffett, President and Co-Chair of Novo Foundation and daughter-in-law of Warren Buffett. Ms Buffett was named in Barron’s magazine list of Twenty-Five Most Effective Philanthropists in 2009 and 2010. The breakfast will also honor “Woman Philanthropist of the Year”, JoAnn Price, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Fairview Capital. A young philanthropist, Claudia Udolf, will also be honored at the breakfast. Claudia is a student at Kingswood Oxford in West Hartford who has shown outstanding dedication in her work with the Ronald McDonald house.

100% of net proceeds from this event will go to the Aurora Women and Girls Foundation community grants program, focused on improving educational and economic skill-building opportunities for women and girls. The mission of the Aurora Women and Girls Foundation is to be a catalyst for positive change in the lives of women and girls in Greater Hartford. Created in 2000, Aurora is Connecticut’s only freestanding foundation focused exclusively on women and girls, engaged in strategic grant making that supports and empowers women and girls of all ages.
