The Ricky Alfonso Quintet will appear on Thursday, January 16th, at 7:00 pm at the Windsor Art Center, 40 Mechanic Street, Windsor.
Trumpeter Ricky Alfonso has been a mainstay on the East Coast jazz scene since the early 1970s. A product of the modern jazz movement with a trumpet style reminiscent of Miles Davis and Freddie Hubbard, Ricky has worked with many area jazz luminaries including Mario Pavone, Michael Mussillami, Bill Lowe, Ed Blackwell, Joe Fonda, Nat Reeves and the late Bill Barron. A composer, arranger and educator, Alfonso has long since developed his own very personal style on the trumpet. Performing modern jazz standards and original compositions, his group carries on the tradition of high quality swing and modern jazz improvisation.
