Rani Arbo in Concert

Fiddler, guitarist, singer, songwriter and song collector Rani Arbo will perform October 3 at 6:30 pm at the Windsor Art Center, 40 Mechanic Street, Windsor, CT. The evening’s performance presents a rare duo show with master Vermont guitarist Greg Ryan. The set list includes many of Arbo’s originals as well as traditional and cover songs from Appalachian hymns to Anais Mitchell and Tom Waits.

A resident of Middletown, Connecticut, Arbo has toured nationally for more than 20 years with John McCutcheon, Joan Baez, Mark Erelli, among others, and, most recently, with the quartet Rani Arbo & daisy mayhem. Together, they have produced five CDs on Signature Sounds and frequented folk festivals from coast to coast. Acoustic Guitar Magazine writes, “Arbo is blessed with an unmistakable voice, both light and sultry, with a hint of tremolo and smoke.” Her songs are melodic, poetic, loving and wry reflections on motherhood, spirit, partnership, mid-life, red- haired boys, and more.”

Suggested donation: $10 at the door.
