SIMSBURY, CT – The New McLean and the Alzheimer’s Association will be hosting a free seminar for caregivers of those with dementia on Thursday, December 12 at 6:00 p.m. in The Burkholder Community Center at The New McLean, 75 Great Pond Road, Simsbury. The program will be presented by Patty O’Brian, North Central Regional Director of the Alzheimer’s Association CT Chapter.

The hectic holiday season can fluster anyone, but for people with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia, the noisy crowds, breaks in the routine and unfamiliar visitors can trigger extreme anxiety and spoil festivities for everyone. During the presentation, Patty O’Brian will offer effective strategies to help overcome challenges often associated with the holiday season, and help ensure a happy holiday for all. Light refreshments will be served.
