Free Theater Event to Reimagine Aging

We are excited to invite you to a pioneering theater experience to re-examine our beliefs about retirement and aging.  On June 5th, Dr. Bill Thomas’ Second Wind Tour is coming to Hartford.  Tickets are free thanks to the sponsorship of the AARP and the Alzheimer's Resource Center of CT.  (See ticket registration details below.)

The Tour is a non-fiction theater event which invites us to reimagine what it means to grow older in our world today – a unique opportunity to see our lives and our work through a fresh lens.

The goal of the 25-city Second Wind Tour is to start a new conversation that reframes “life after adulthood” as an exciting stage of human growth and development.  The Tour is a unique experience blending theater, film and music, prompting the audience to “see true things in a new light.”

“The Tour challenges the conventional narrative of decline in mid-life and beyond,” says Dr. Thomas. “I want people to connect to the power that arises from finding a ‘second wind’ in life.”

In addition to theatrical monologues including Dr. Thomas and consumer health expert Dr. Janet Taylor, the afternoon performance features 2014 Sundance Audience Choice documentary film Alive Inside by director Michael Rossato-Bennett, and a live musical performance by Musicians for World Harmony founder Samite Mulondo.

The Alzheimer’s Resource Center of Connecticut has joined with the Second Wind Tour’s national sponsor AARP’s Life Reimagined to cover the cost of the event tickets so that you may attend for free.  These financial sponsors believe in the value of our community gathering to reframe and claim new possibilities for aging.  Seating at the Lincoln Theater is limited so tickets are available on a first come basis.

To secure tickets for yourself, your friends, and colleagues please visit AlzheimersResourceCenter.org or email info@arc-ct.org

We hope that you will join us and other likeminded individuals who are committed to exploring new possibilities for aging well and living deeper and more connected lives.
