Windsor Weekend Guide: Holiday Festivities

A look at events in town this weekend.

Wilson Holiday Celebration; Sat., Dec. 10 at 1 p.m.

Families are invited to stop by the Wilson Branch Library Saturday to take part in a day of holiday fun, complete with a hot chocolate bar, holiday-inspired games, music and a charity game.

The event begins at 1 p.m. For more information call the library at 860-247-8960.

Old Fashioned Carol Sing and Torchlight Parade; Sat., Dec. 10 at 6 p.m.

Brought to Windsor residents by Windsor Federal Savings, First Town Downtown and the Windsor Volunteer Fire Department, the carol sing at the Town Portico and torchlight parade have become staples of the holiday season that aren't to be missed.

The Dec. 11 event begins at 6 p.m. A torch light parade commences at 6:30 p.m. with the town fire trucks decorated in the season's best. The parade begins on Remington Road and proceeds through downtown Windsor. A bonfire at the pond by the commuter lot follows, and refreshments will be served. 

Also this weekend:

  • Open House at Patti's Treasures from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sat., Dec. 10.
  • Free skating at Loomis Chaffee's Savage Rink on Sun., Dec. 11 from 1:15 - 3:15 p.m. Hockey sticks and helmets are permitted from 1:15 - 2:15 p.m.
