Windsor Homes Shake in Maine Earthquake

Some Windsor residents say they felt their home shake Tuesday when tremors from a Maine-based quake reverberated throughout New England.

The United States Geological Survey confirmed Tuesday night that a 4.6 magnitude earthquake occured in southern Maine and it sent shockwaves throughout New England.

Those tremors were felt across the state of Connecticut, including in the homes of Windsor residents.

In Windsor, numerous postings on the Windsor Patch Facebook page described the local effects of Maine's quake.

Terese Newman said she "definitely felt it," saying she heard her house rattle "unlike any rattle noise we've heard before."

Emily Woodward said her house shook, while Ann Dillon said it "felt like the whole house twisted."

According to the Connecticut Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security, no damage had been reported as of 8:50 p.m. on Tuesday.
