Former University of Connecticut hoops star, guard Kemba Walker, was named role model of the year Tuesday at the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce breakfast in Cromwell. He spoke to a packed house of fans at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
Coach Jim Calhoun joined new UConn President Susan Herbst, Assistant Coach Kevin Ollie and dozens of state and local dignitaries in honor of the 21-year-old former Huskies guard who was chosen ninth in the NBA draft in late June for the Charlotte Bobcats.
