Swimming Pools Open Tomorrow, Weather Permitting

Goslee and Welch pools are scheduled to open.

It's been a week full of showers and thunderstorms, and youngsters across town are keeping their fingers crossed today as both Goslee and Welch swimming pools are scheduled to open tomorrow afternoon.

As of noon today, however, there is a hazardous weather outlook issued by the National Weather Service, reporting a 50-percent chance of rain and thunderstorms after 12 p.m. on Saturday. A high of 77ºF is expected, but the opening will remain a tossup, and subject to Mother Nature's will.

According to Welch pool staff, the pools will be closed upon the sound of thunder.
