Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued

A winter weather advisory has caused meteorologists to call for hazardous weather over the next 48 hours, as snow and rain are expected to make for messy conditions.

Hazardous is the word the National Weather Service is using to describe the weather outlook over the next 48 hours, causing the service to issue a winter weather advisory for Northern Connecticut and Western Rhode Island.

The messy weather is expected to arrive late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning.

The advisory is in effect from 1 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, the National Weather Service said.

In addition to the snow, the National Weather Service said rain and sleet may mix with the snow Wednesday morning and the morning rush hour is expected to be affected by the resulting slippery conditions.
