Good-News Friday: Jan. 25, 2013

The spotlight stops on a uniformed good samaritan. Weather outlook brings hope.

On this frigid Good-News Friday it's necessary to handle immediate concerns as such — good news from our friendly neighborhood meteorologists is on the way.

That's right, the light is at the end of the tunnel. Although the National Weather Service has forecast the continuation of below-zerow wind-chill factors through Sunday (a low of -3 is forecast for Saturday night), the weather will quickly change early in the week, as it will actually be warm enough for a wintry mix to sweep through on Monday.

While the mix will make it quite messy early in the week, a high of 43ºF is actually forecast for Tuesday. Can you believe it?

WFSB shined a spotlight on Windsor Police Sgt. Todd Spencer yesterday when a traveler snapped a photo of the officer changing a tire for a stranded woman in freezing temperatures.

The photo was posted to WFSB's Facebook page and quickly drew thousands of likes, WFSB reported.

Spencer told WFSB changing a tire for a stranded motorist is something he's done in the past and that he "just wanted to get it done quickly."
