Cruisin' In Classic Automobiles

1. Each spring, antique, classic and other car hobbyists roll their cars out of hibernation for the warm weather ahead. These hot rods, convertibles, Model T's and other classics hit the roads each summer and are often on display at outdoor car rallies and cruise events. If you share a love and sense of nostalgia for classic cars, consider stopping by a classic car event before summer winds down and the cars are safely put away until next season.
Manchester's Annual Cruisin' on Main Street event was postponed from August 14th to September 18th, due to inclement weather. So mark your calendars, as this event – a single-day cruise and car show – will feature thousands of vintage vehicles and admirers on the streets of historic downtown Manchester. 2. If you're looking for a car show tonight, check out the car show at Vernon Golf Land, located at 95 Hartford Turnpike. The event runs from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and features a DJ, raffles, food and opportunities to support local charities. For more information visit the Tri-Town Cruzers on Facebook

3. This Sunday, East Windsor Golf & Track, located at 20 North Road, from 4 to 7 p.m. And on Wednesday nights in Windsor there's a car night at Bart's Drive-In Restaurant.

For those who are feeling a bit more "adventurous," a car show and bikini car wash is taking place in Hartford on Saturday the 20th. Team Percy's 1st Annual Car Show & Bikini Car Wash will feature sports cars, classic cars, muscle cars, cruise-in, tuner and sport compacts, exotics, low riders and motorcycles. 4. On this day in history, 1964, the Beatles kicked off their first U.S. tour with a performance at San Francisco's Cow Palace.

5. There's a chance of showers again today, but it will be partly sunny with a high in the mid-80's. Temperatures will dip into the 60's tonight, according to National Weather Service reports.
