Cangemi Brothers to Lead Windsor's Memorial Day Parade

Having returned from service in Afghanistan, the Windsor brothers will serve as co-marshal's of the town's observance of Memorial Day.

Along with the announcement of its plans for Memorial Day observance, Town of Windsor officials recently announced Windsor brothers and veterans of the war in Afghanistan Nic and Chris Cangemi will lead its annual parade.

The Cangemi brothers, both Senior Airmen with the United States Air Force Connecticut Air National Guard 103rd, returned home safely to Windsor in February.

During their tours of duty, Nic and Chris worked to set up bases for incoming troops across Afghanistan, working in utilities and water fuel systems management, and pavement and heavy equipment operation, respectively.

In addition to the brothers' role as the parade's leaders, the town's observance of Memorial Day will include a ceremony held at Elm Grove and Veterans Cemetery, from which a parade will proceed to town hall where a special tribute to the late Fran Dillon will be performed by the Windsor Fife and Drum Corps.

Dillon, who passed in February, co-founded the Windsor Fife and Drum Corps.
