Save Money With "The Clean Fifteen" Fruits And Vegetables

Making a smart decision about which fruits and vegetables to purchase could benefit your health and your wallet.

We'd all love to, but it's not always easy to buy organic; a $5 bunch of asparagus or $7 box of black cherries can make you wince, not to mention take a toll on your grocery budget. When it comes to produce, the effort to avoid high levels of pesticide ingestion can be deemed necessary; however, there are certain fruits and veggies that are "relatively unlikely to be contaminated by pesticides," according to The Huffington Post, which has compiled a list of such produce.

Fifteen fruits and vegetables are on the list, of which onions sit atop, followed by sweet corn and pinapple.
