Equity & Excellence Research Not Funded by Local Windsor Budget!

Not a single dollar from the Town of Windsor treasury was or will be used to fund the equity and excellence research currently underway.

Facts do matter.

What we use each dollar in our operating budget to do is to fund those aligned, high quality educational and professional activities that support high quality teaching and learning:

Check out attachments and reports from recent BOE meetings to see the high quality curricula that is being developed and implemented across our schools. That's paid for through the generous support of our local and State and Federal $$.

Check out the most recent BOE meeting to learn about the high levels of accountability and quality professional support required and provided to each teacher, and administrator across the district. That is paid for through the generous support of local, State and Federal $$.

Check out the most recent meeting to hear about how that quality curriculum, accountability and support of teachers and administrators when combined with intentional attention to the climate of our schools - PBIS - made Sage Park the middle school of year in the State of Connecticut. That is paid for through the generous support of local, State and Federal $$.

Check out on the BOE website, http://www.windsorct.org/pages/Windsor_Public_Schools/District/Equity_and_Excellence_Review, what the EE&R really is about - diagnosing the factors that have contributed to the overall decline in performance at our high school - in spite of the centers of excellence that exists within its walls. To find evidence, data, facts, correlations, policies, structures that keeps us from achieving the excellence that is clearly within our grasp. That's year 1. That research is paid for by the generous support of State $$. Authorized and administered by the SDE.

Facts do matter.

We are using our resources to create long-term viable solutions that build on our strengths, our successes while addressing our challenges.  This is what the democratic leadership on this BOE has been all about. It is what our students, staff and I believe our community wants from us. Evidenced based solutions that maximize our resources, strengthen our community and equip all our children to face a challenging and uncertain global society.

Its not too late to get on the train!
