Urgent Request for the BoE Chair and the Superintendent

The Windsor Board of Education must cut $600,000 from their 2013-14 budget. The Windsor Board of Education this past Tuesday, 5/21/13, began budgetary discussions. According to a Board of Education member, the BoE Chair and the Superintendent are in the process of setting a date/time/location for the Special Board of Education Meeting to continue budgetary discussions and determine which programs, services, and/or staffing will be cut.   The Windsor Board of Education should make every effort to include our students, parents, and citizens participation at this very important Special Board of Education Meeting.   Concerned Mothers and Fathers request the Superintendent and the Board of Education Chair approve the utilization of the Windsor Public Schools communication outreach resources to inform our students, parents, and citizens of the date, time, location and purpose of this Special Board of Education meeting addressing our school budget. These communication outreach resources include telephone calls, emails, notices/newsletters to parents, and newspaper notices.  We also urge the Board of Education to televise this Special Meeting so any individuals who cannot attend may still view the meeting.   The Board of Education’s actions identifying which programs, services, and/or staffing are to be cut will provide citizens more information on the school budget.
