Windsor Firm Bought for $84M

Windsor's Envirotest Systems Holding Corp. has seen a big payday.

The auto emissions technology company was recently bought by Opus Inspection, Inc., an East Granby-based subsidiary of Sweden’s Opus Group, for $84 million, Hartford Business Journal has reported.

The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2014, and will include technology, real estate and other assets, according to Hartford Business Journal.

Envirotest was established in Windsor in 1974, and has since bloomed into “the leader in vehicle emissions testing equipment, services and technology in North America,” according to its website.
