Two New Businesses Open Doors in Windsor

This week brought ribbon cuttings in Wilson and Poquonock.

Two new businesses are calling Windsor home, and they're on opposite sides of town.

Community Health Services (CHS) opened its doors on Windsor Avenue in Wilson, right next to the Dunkin' Donuts.

CHS provides a number of services to the community, including adult medical, pediactric, dental, women's care and a number of social services.

Established in 1970, CHS is a 501c(3) non-profit that is "committed to caring for each person who enters our doors, regardless of their income or ability to pay for services and whether or not they have insurance," according its website.

An opening ceremony was recently held, with Congressman John Larson and State Representative Brandon McGee on hand.

Keeping with the health theme, a space in Poquonock is no longer empty thanks to Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine Centers (PTSMC).

The location is PTSMC's thirteenth location in the state and is a partnership between physical therapists Brian Vo and Alan Balavendor.

"This town is a great, close-knit community and I am thrilled about the opportunity to provide Windsorites with exceptional medical care in their own back yard," Vo said about opening the Windsor location.

The office has opened at 645 Poquonock Avenue.

This article has been amended. A previous version of this article identified the new Windsor Avenue business as Community Health Resources (CHR), not Community Health Services (CHS).
