Congrats, Faddy's Donuts: Zagat Website Featured You

Zagat.com, website of the famous Zagat restaurant ratings books, just featured the pumpkin donuts at Faddy's Donuts & Ice Cream as Connecticut's example in a 50-state doughnut survey.

"[I]t was reportedly a police-buddy friend who inspired Mike Rittlinger to open this donut and ice cream shop in 2005," according to a feature posted Friday, Feb. 21 on Zagat.com. "His apple cider flavor gets a lot of raves, but the pumpkin flavor is a fall fave for many."

The business got its name from the cop, too, according to the Yelp.com website.

Here's how Faddy's describes itself on its "About" page on Facebook: "We cook the best donuts on site in various locations. Faddy's never ever sells a donut that is a day old. Our kettle corn is made fresh daily and our ice cream now is made fresh daily using a liquid nitrogen system."

Faddy's has one of the most active Facebook pages anywhere, full of luscious pictures of doughnuts, but there's no word of Zagat's recognition (as of the time Windsor Patch published this article, anyway).

So stop by and congratulate them on the Zagat mention -- you may surprise them.
