Windsor Bank Robbed by Obama Hat-Wearing Man

Windsor Police are seeking the public's help in identifying a man they say robbed a Windsor bank Monday.

According to police, the man pictured above entered Windsor Shopping Center's Sovereign Bank around 11:35 a.m.

The man walked up to a teller and handed her a note, which read, "Give me the money and don't be stupid," police said.

According to police, the teller did not have her keys, as she had just cashed out, causing the suspect "to yell in a deep and rough voice, 'Don't be stupid, give me the money.'"

Police said witnesses also reported the suspect told the teller, "Don't give me a hard time. I have a gun."

According to police, the teller retrieved her keys and handed the man an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect then exited the building and left the Windsor Shopping Center parking lot in a gray or silver Ford Mustang with "nice wheels."

The vehicle was last seen traveling southbound on Rt. 159.

Witnesses say the suspect was clean shaven and had straight teeth. He is also described as wearing a whit hat that reads "Obama" on the front with the presidential seal within the "O".

He was also wearing dark jeans and a long-sleeved, black "Akademiks" shirt.

Those with information regarding the suspect's identity or his whereabouts are encouraged to contact the Windsor Police Department by calling 860-688-5273.
