Fly like an eagle over to the SummerWind Concert space in Windsor where the Steve Miller Band performs August 12. The band comes to Windsor on the tail end of their summer tour.

Little Theatre of Manchester Presents A Musical Revue 

Favorite tunes from a variety of classic musicals are featured in The Second 25 Years – A Musical Revue to be presented August 12 through 14, and August 18 through 21 at Cheney Hall in Manchester. Created by the Little Theatre of Manchester, the musical montage includes numbers from Singin' in the Rain, Hello Dolly!, My Fair Lady, Gypsy, Anything Goes, Camelot, and more. 'The Band' Band at Blue Back Square

The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down . . . The Weight . . . Up on Cripple Creek . . . If you love the music of The Band, stroll over to the pergola at Blue Back Square in West Hartford on August 17. That's where The 'The Band' Band, a tribute band to the Canadian greats, are set to play a free outdoor concert.

Another Turbo-Charged Thursday at Children's Museum

The Children's Museum of West Hartford continues its Turbo-Charged Thursdays. August 11 brings "Family Engineering Day," a theme that will be explored with the help of special activities, demonstrations and a few surprise guests.

Simsbury Library Hosts Talent Show Family Event

Have you got a talented performer in your house? For the third year running, the Simsbury Public Library welcomes singers, pianists, dancers, gymnasts, jugglers and other variously talented folk to participate in a Talent Show Family Event Drop-In.

Chatham County Line Brings Bluegrass to 41 Bridge Street

If you're a fan of bluegrass, you've probably already heard Chatham County Line, the four-member band that has performed sold-out shows in the U.S. and abroad, appeared on national radio and TV, and produced four records. The band's latest is Wildwood. They'll be playing tunes from that and their other records when they play an August 11 gig at 41 Bridge Street in Collinsville.

Megamind in Canton

Will Ferrell, Tina Fey and Brad Pitt all lend their voices to Megamind, the animated tale of a supervillain who despairs when he has no hero to fight. The film screens outdoors for free on August 13 at the Farmington Valley Shoppes in Canton. Pre-show entertainment is provided by New York City-based juggler Michael Karas.
