Cirillo Theatre to Present Broadway Cabaret

Submitted by Windsor Recreation & Leisure Services Staff

Twelve talented singers from Windsor’s Cirillo Summer Theatre will present a Broadway Cabaret this weekend as a fundraiser for their regular summer season of shows.  The singers are mostly high school students and college aged young adults who are members of the group’s senior division.  One of the group’s junior division members, Jade King, a Sage Park middle school student, was asked to join the older group in this event because of her exceptional singing talent.  She will sing, “Easy To Be Hard,” from the musical, Hair.  Some of the other musicals represented in this show are Rent, My Fair Lady, A Chorus Line, West Side Story and Les Miserables.  In all, songs from twenty-four different musicals will be presented.

The show is directed by Karen Vinick who began this annual event in 2006 for the 45-year-old theatre troupe.  Karen has also directed the group’s younger division for the last seven theatrical seasons and had been an actor with the senior division since 2002.  Accompanying on piano and drums are Debbie Curylo and Alex Giosa, respectively.  Debbie has been music director for the senior division group since 2003, and Alex began with the group a year later, first as an actor and then, when he became more skilled, as the group’s drummer.
