Thankful for Trees Day at the Connecticut Historical Society

Don’t miss this afternoon of indoor and outdoor activities for adults and families alike in conjunction with the CHS’s two newest exhibits, New Life for Connecticut Trees: Furniture by City Bench and Lost Landscapes: Great Trees from Connecticut’s Past. Activities begin with a reading of Dr. Seuss’s classic tale of trees and conservation, The Lorax, at 12:30 pm. At 1:00 pm, a fall tree walk with local expert Ed Richardson will examine the wide variety of trees on the CHS grounds. At 2:00 pm, Ted and Zeb Esselstyn, the City Bench artist-craftsmen, will give an informal gallery talk and answer questions about their furniture and how they recycle trees into inspiring works of art. Hands-on activities for kids will be ongoing from 12:00 – 3:00 pm.

 Event free with general admission.

 FREE on-site parking is available.
