AERO GEAR HIRING AS AEROSPACE INDUSTRY IMPROVES:

JOB FAIR SATURDAY

WINDSOR, CONN., Jan. 12, 2012 – With the improvement of the aerospace industry nationwide, Aero Gear, Inc., today announced that it is hiring about a dozen skilled people for manufacturing jobs at its Windsor Conn., headquarters.

The company is looking for CNC machinists, heat treat support technicians, and engineers.  The aerospace industry runs in cycles, as do many other industries worldwide.  Despite the overall tightness in the world’s economies, today our industry is expanding
and, as a result, the company has a number of job openings to fill.

The Aero Gear job fair will be at the company, 1050 Day Hill Road, Windsor, on Saturday, January 14, from 9 a.m. until noon.  The job openings are for all three shifts at the company.  Those interested may either apply on line at www.careerbuilder.com or in person at the job fair.  Additional information about the company is available at the company’s Internet site, www.aerogear.com.

Aero Gear needs machinists who can read and interpret blueprints as well as engineers who can develop manufacturing processes for carburized gears, housings, shafts and similar components for aerospace applications. 
Applicants need to feel comfortable working in a lean manufacturing environment with a constant focus on quality.

Aero Gear specializes in the manufacture of a wide
range of aircraft gears and gear assemblies for both military and commercial applications.  The company, which had only one employee in 1982, now employs about 135 skilled workers.  It supplies products for virtually every
major aircraft engine manufacturer, including Avio, Boeing, General Electric, Pratt & Whitney, Rolls Royce, and Sikorsky.  In May, 2011, the company was awarded “Supplier Gold Status” by United Technologies Corp.

Aero Gear is a member of Aerospace Components Manufacturers a network of about 50 small to mid-sized aerospace companies located within about a 20-mile radius of Hartford.
