CANCELLED - A Night On Broadway with The Hartford Pops

From SSC SummerWind:

HARTFORD POPS' AUGUST 27TH SHOW AT SS&C SUMMERWIND CANCELLED DUE TO IMPENDING BAD WEATHER

Friday night's Bruce Hornsby/Bela Fleck show to go on as scheduled

WINDSOR Thursday, August 25, 2011 SS&C SummerWind Performing Arts Center regretfully announced today that the final scheduled show of the 2011 season this Saturday night's (August 27th) "A Night on Broadway with the Hartford Pops" has been cancelled due to expected bad weather resulting from Hurricane Irene.

However, Friday night's show at SS&C SummerWind (tomorrow - August 26th), featuring headliners Bruce Hornsby and the Noisemakers and Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, will be held as scheduled starting at 6 p.m., and the forecast calls for excellent weather.  SS&C SummerWind is the area's premiere open-air concert venue, with seating available both under a state-of-the-art tent and on the lawn behind it.

"While it saddens us to do so, for the sake of the safety and the comfort of our patrons, we have opted to cancel this Saturday's season finale show, rather than force performers and patrons to have to endure a likely wind-and-rain-blown environment.  All forecasts indicate that Saturday night simply is not expected to be conducive to a comfortable, enjoyable evening of listening to live music outdoors," SS&C SummerWind Executive Director Michael Campbell said.  "Instead, we will finish the season with a great show tomorrow night with two world-renowned acts, with what looks to be a lovely late-summer weather."

Tickets for tomorrow night's Bruce Hornsby/Bela Fleck show are still available at www.sscsummerwind.org.
