Aurora Borealis Could be Visible Saturday Night

Residents could catch a glimpse of the northern lights on Saturday, April 13, 2013 thanks to an early-morning solar flare.

Windsor residents could witness a rare sight Saturday when the northern lights stretch as far as the tri-state area, according to AccuWeather.com.

AccuWeather credits an early morning solar flare, saying the flare's radiation is particularly strong, enhancing its visibility.

Additionally, the radiation may disrupt radio, cell phone and gps disturbances.

The show is scheduled for an 8 p.m. arrival in the area.
