Town Hall is Calling All Lovebirds

Couples who received a free marriage license are encouraged to join in the 50th anniversary celebration.

Fifty years ago, the Windsor Town Clerk's Office began the traditition of offering free marriage licenses to couples on February 14 in honor of Valentine's Day.

This year, the clerk's office is continuing the tradition, but it's also looking to ring in its golden anniversary by connecting with the happy couples who received free marriage licenses over the years.

On Feb. 14, 2012, the clerk's office will hold a celebration, complete with cake, punch, a drawing for a gift basket stuffed with items from Windsor stores and a justice of the peace will be on hand to renew vows upon request.
