Speed Rail Construction Begins Across Town

Amtrak's work to install underground cables will include work from the south to north end of town for the next two weeks.

The first portion of construction for the New Haven-Hartford-Springfield Rail program continues, and it will begin to affect things in Windsor Mon., Oct. 28.


According to the town, Amtrak will continue the installation of underground signal and communication cables — work that is necessary before track and additional infrastructure improvements can be made.


Construction will occur at grade crossings from the south end to north end of town — work that will include “excavation, backfilling and paving.

The work will occur at the following locations from 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.:


Mon., Oct. 28 - Fri., Nov. 1: Meadow Road
