Snow, Ice and Fog Heading for Windsor Tuesday

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Windsor.

Weather conditions have become dicey in town since snow and freezing rain swept through the region Sunday night, and things aren't looking up, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

As of Monday afternoon, NWS has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Windsor and issued a special weather statement warning of the increased occurrence of black ice and fog.

There's a 70-percent chance of snow Tuesday, NWS forecasts, with a predicted accumulation of "around an inch."

The full weather statement issued by NWS, however, says one to three inches are possible as "the snow ill begin… intensifying around the late-morning ion the midday hours before tapering off into evening."

Snow is forecast to begin falling during the tail end of the Tuesday-morning commute, according to Weather.com's hourly forecast.

The NWS statement also warns of the increased occurrence of black ice as temperatures drop at night on Monday.

Hazardous driving conditions are also predicted for Tuesday, according to the NWS, which says motorists can "expect slick and slippery conditions on untreated surfaces."
