Slain Windsor Man Remembered in Song

Keith Washington was shot and killed in Hartford.

Keith Washington, a 23-year-old Windsor man shot and killed in Hartford in 2011, will be be honored Saturday night when a concert is held to benefit efforts to help children in his memory.

The concert, is a vocal concert featuring classical, spiritual, gospel and contemporary music, and will feature the talents of three local artists: Stewart and Stanley Battle along with Christopher Dukes.

Titled "Battle, Dukes and Battle," the event is free and donations will be accepted in benefit of the Keith Washington Initiative, which benefits efforts to help kids achieve success academically and socially.

The concert will be held at St. Joseph University's Connor Chapel. located at 1678 Asylum Avenue in West Hartford at 4 p.m.

All three featured artists are celebrated vocalists who have performed across the nation and in venues across the globe, including the New York's famed Metropolitan Opera and Carnegie Hall.
