The Windsor High School Alumni car show revved up Bart's Drive-In Wednesday night.

When the Windsor High School administration decided that holding the
annual Alumni Car Show during school hours wasn’t a good idea, it was only
natural that WHS Auto Club president Marissa Dembkoski turned to her father, Thom, for ideas.

Thom, and Marissa’s brother, Mike, are active members of Dreamz II Reality Motorsports (DIIR), one of the leading car clubs in Connecticut. DIIR’s Summer Dreamz cruise nights are a regular event at Bart’s Drive-In on Palisado Avenue, so merging the Alumni show with a DIIR cruise night was the perfect solution to the problem.

After endless days of rain, the sun finally appeared, giving DIIR and the WHS Auto Club the green light to hold the show on Wednesday, May 25.

The show attracted an interesting selection of vehicles of all ages. Around 70
classics, muscle cars, tuners, imports, bikes and even a tractor rubbed shoulders in the packed parking lot.

“Joining forces with DIIR is great and we can’t thank them enough. This is the second time we’ve staged the show with them here at Bart’s. We want to show off our cars and have fun, and this is the ideal place to do it," said Marissa Dembkoski. "The donations we receive go back to the auto club to help stage next year’s show. We also put funds toward repainting the fish in the Shad Derby floats.”

Before beginning the trophy presentations, DIIR President Jerry Zayas thanked everyone for supporting the event. He then handed the microphone over to Marissa and vice president Emma Faucher, who presented the trophy for WHS Alum Best of Show to Tyrone Marshall for his Subaru Impreza.
