Photos: Seniors Battle it out in First Annual Bake-Off

The Windsor Senior Center held its first annual "Batter Up" Baking Contest on Wednesday.

The Senior Center held the first annual "Batter Up" baking contest on Wed., Feb. 23. The contest, sponsored by Bloomfield's Seabury Community, was judged by chefs from Seabury and Windsor's Zocco's Italian Restaurant, and the director of Seabury dining services, Roy Bauder. Zocco's gave each contestant a $10 gift certificate.

June Urban took home the prize for "best in show" with her homemade apple crumb pie. She won a free dinner for two at Seabury, and her dessert will be prepared by Seabury's staff and served to all residents of the Seabury community.

Ruther Wilbur came in first place in the pie division, while Elena Garafalo and Margaret Papelian took home the blue ribbon for cookies and bread, respectively.
