2. Monster Jam

Where and When: XL Center, Hartford, Saturday and Sunday.

Why Go: Ten-thousand-pound machines racing and ripping up a custom-designed track full of obstacles to soar over - OR smash through.

Pricing: Gold Circle-$35 All Seats; Level 2-$30 Adults, $10 Kids; Level 3-$20 Adults, $10 Kids.

3. Opera House Players present the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

Where/When: , 107 Main Street, Broad Brook, CT. Shows are on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.

Why Go: This musical comedy features six overachieving teenage spelling bee participants trying to win “the spelling championship of a lifetime.” The Broad Brook Players have rated the production PG-13, so leave the little ones at home.

Pricing: Reserved seating, adults pay $21 and those older than 60 and younger than 12 pay $17.

4. The 6th Annual Big Y Kids Fair

Where and When: Connecticut Expo Center, Hartford, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday

Why Go: Fun, entertainment, exhibits, prizes and more.
Pricing: $8 adults with 50 percent off with Big Y card and $4 for kids 12 years old and under.

5. Aztec Two-Step

Where/When: Little Theatre of Manchester at Cheney Hall, 177 Hartford Road, Manchester, CT, on Saturday at 8 p.m.

Why Go: Accomplished area folk duo Aztec Two-Step celebrate their 40th anniversary with a performance to honor Little Theatre of Manchester’s 20th anniversary at Cheney Hall. Little Theater is calling the performance a most memorable show.

Pricing: VIP seating costs $40 and general admission costs $30.
