Former Windsor Leader Honored by Connecticut Bar Association

Attorney Francis Brady recognized for "dedication to the highest ideals and standards of the legal profession."

A man who once served as Deputy Mayor and Mayor of Windsor was honored recently by the Connecticut Bar Association with the Edward F. Hennessey Professionalism Award.

Attorney Francis J. Brady, an attorney with Murtha Cullina LLC since 1974, was presented with the award at the the organization’s Annual Meeting on June 17 at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford, according to a release from the CBA.

He served as deputy mayor of the town of Windsor from 1993–1994 and as mayor 1994–1997.

“Your career has exemplified everything that is good and honorable about the profession of law and has made us all proud to be lawyers,” the citation for Brady states.

Brady has served as past president of the Connecticut Bar Association and in several other positions, as a member of the American Bar Association’s House of Delegates and on the Board of Directors of the New England Bar Association.

According to the release, "The recipient of the Edward F. Hennessey Professionalism Award must meet the following criteria: a career that has shown dedication to the highest ideals and standards of the legal profession; inspired other members of the Bar and to honor the memory of Edward F. Hennessey, who passed away in 2003 and was a partner at Robinson & Cole LLP for more than 40 years demonstrated integrity, character, competence, ethics, civility, and mentoring over the course of his or her career; and enhanced the public’s perception of the legal profession. He or she also must have practiced at least 20 years and is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association."
