Former NBA Player's Talk Headlines Windsor's Tribute to Dr. King

Celebrations in tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. start Saturday and run through Monday.

This holiday weekend Windsor has the opportunity to remember the message preached by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.: impartiality on the basis of race or ethnicity and non-violence.

King's legacy will be remembered this weekend throughout town, but two events in particular headline tributes paid in his honor.

On Sat., Jan. 15, Christ the King Lutheran Church will pay tribute to Dr. King with a special celebration at 6 p.m. The celebration will include spirituals and gospel music performed by the choir of Hartford's Phillips Metropolitan C.M.E. Church.

Amaechi, who is the first and only British player to be inducted into the basketball hall of fame, is now a psychologist, best-selling author of Man in the Middle (his autobiography) and spokesperson for human rights.
