Works of South Windsor Artist on Display in May at Duncaster

The Duncaster Art Gallery will be showcasing a new exhibit from South Windsor  artist Lucia Liao during May.  Duncaster Retirement Community will host a free public opening reception of the work on Sunday, May 4 at 4 p.m. Titled, “Hometown Impressions” the exhibit is open to the public Monday through Sunday from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. through the month of May.

Lucia Liao currently resides in South Windsor, where she works as an engineer. Her “Hometown Impressions” series is a snapshot of her time growing up in Nankang, China. This collection of oil paintings reflects memories of a carefree time before rapidly changing technology swayed the landscape. Liao has her Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering as well as a Master in Fine Arts in Figurative Painting from the Academy of Art University. Her science training and passion for art provides a unique view of the world and human civilization. Her work has been exhibited in Connecticut by the West Hartford Art League, South Windsor Library, Connecticut Women Artists, Windsor Art Center and the New Haven Paint and Clay Club.
