Windsor Lions Easter Plant Sale Coming Up in April

The snow is melting and the spring rains are here and the Windsor Lions are gearing up for their annual Easter Plant Sale.

The Lions and their big tent will be on the Town Green, right on Broad Street from Wednesday, April 16th to Saturday, the 19th.

With a bit of luck we will have better weather than when this photo was taken in 2005! Be sure to stop by and pick up a beautiful Easter or star lily, or a daffodil, hydrangea or tulip plant to brighten up your home and spirits.

When you do, you will be helping the Lions provide eye care to those in need in Windsor. Last year the Windsor Lions contributed approximately $10,000 worth of eyeglasses to school children and adults and they are on track to increase that number this year.

If you’d like to do more than buy a plant to help out in your community, why not attend a Lions meeting and find out more about what the Lions are all about?

The Windsor Lions meet the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at the Union Street Tavern at 6:30 PM.

You can walk right in, no appointment necessary…or you can call or email Lion Lou Morando (860-688-7793 or l.mora45@sbcglobal.net) for more info.

If you have a friend who is a Lion, all the better.  If you don’t have a friend who is a Lion…all the more reason to come to a meeting, because then you will have a whole pride of lions as your friends! Why not come to our meeting on April 22nd and hear Hartford Courant sportswriter Tom Yantz talk about everything and anything about spring sports?

Whether it’s the Huskies, high school sports, golf, baseball or curling, Tom will bring you up to date in a highly entertaining way.
