Introducing Megan McConville

Find out what's happening in Windsorwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

As president and owner of a full-service commercial and industrial roofing contracting company, Offshore Construction Inc.,  Megan McConville is not only breaking ground in an industry traditionally dominated by men, she is growing the venture at record speed:  both profits and employees have quadrupled in a little over three years.

Although Megan’s roots are in the roofing industry — her father and grandfather own /owned roofing businesses — her initial jobs after graduating from Fairfield University in 2008 were corporate finance positions at NBC Universal and Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessey in New York City.

However, when the chance to invest in the acquisition of a Florida commercial roofing company presented itself in 2010, you could say that blood proved thicker than water.   Megan felt that the opportunities for well-run, women-owned construction businesses were too attractive to pass on.   While she admits the last three years have been a steep learning curve, Megan says she has also surrounded herself with a lot of experience and expertise and is “eager to keep pushing for bigger and better each year.”

Megan was featured as one of Connecticut Magazine’s “40 Under Forty” in the February, 2014 issue.
