SIMSBURY, CT – NOV. 25, 2013 – The New McLean will be hosting a program for caregivers of those with dementia on Tuesday, December 3 at 2:30 p.m. in the Pfirman Dining Room. The program will be presented by Mal Allard, a Licensed Nurse, Alzheimer’s & Dementia Consultant, and owner of Their Real World, an Alzheimer’s and Dementia specific company providing necessary, basic and concrete education for professionals, family caregivers, and the community at large.

“Someone stole my diamond bracelet” portrays a woman’s journey through Dementia while teaching the audience about warning signs, diagnosis, struggle and acceptance. With humor, gentleness and common sense, the story will walk through a real life Dementia Journey beginning at pre-dementia and provide guidance on how to be a compassionate, efficient and successful caregiver.
