GFWC Windsor Woman's Club - Canoe Race/Arts & Crafts Results

The GFWC Windsor Woman’s Club, a member of the General Federation of Woman’s Clubs’ (GFWC), recently participated in the annual “Canoe Race” sponsored by the Kiwanis Club. This event raised food and money for the Windsor Food/Fuel Bank. Total cash/pounds raised by the GFWC Windsor Woman’s Club, which came in 3rd, was 912 pounds (twice as much as last year)! The GFWC Windsor Woman’s Club also won the trophy for “Best Dressed Canoe” (with its Columbus Day theme). For the first time, the club participated in the Lion’s Arts & Crafts Fair, selling items made by club members. This endeavor netted the club $300.00 towards its charities’ budget. Thank you to everyone that donated or made a purchase. A huge thank you to the club members that made items for sale, donated food and/or money and to all the lovely ladies that volunteered their time at either our booth or canoe, on a cool, but dry fall day!

The GFWC Windsor Woman’s Club is part of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs. The GFWC, started in New York in 1890, is an organization dedicated to community improvement through volunteering.
