At the club’s recent April meeting, members enjoyed a presentation by a fellow member, Barbara Tolve-Silver, about the various support teams that are yearly put together by American Friends of Kenya to bring medical supplies, books, provide educational training for existing libraries, as well as assist in starting up new libraries. Containers are shipped by cargo ship and the volunteers who fly to Kenya (paying their own way), are allowed to bring 3 pieces of luggage (which they load with more supplies) as well as bring a carry-on, which contain their personal items.
