The 9th Annual Sunflowers for Wishes to benefit Make-A-Wish® Connecticut took place from July 21st through July 29th at Buttonwood Farm in Griswold, CT, raising over $100,000 for the Foundation and its mission to grant wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions.
For the ninth consecutive year, crowds from all over the state of Connecticut and beyond gathered at Buttonwood Farms to be surrounded by the beauty of literally thousands of sunflowers and to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation®. More than 450,000 sunflowers bloomed on the fifteen acres of farm land. Sunflower bouquets were sold for $5.00 each, with one hundred percent of the proceeds going directly to Make-A-Wish Connecticut and its mission.
Since its beginnings, Sunflowers for Wishes has raised over $600,000 for Make-A-Wish Connecticut. This year’s donation is the highest single-year contribution made by the Button family. With the average cost of a wish approaching $10,000, Sunflowers for Wishes has made over 60 wishes come true through its support across the years. The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Connecticut extends its deepest gratitude to Buttonwood Farms and the Button family for continuously showing their selfless support to Wish Kids, making wishes come true at a time when they need it most.
