What you should know today, Thurs., Oct. 6, 2011.

Apple released a statement Wednesday, announcing former CEO Steve Jobs has died. Over Jobs' career, he developed a number of products that helped bring the use of computers into peoples' daily lives. 1. The Apple I - Developed in 1976, the Apple I was Apple's first computer and was meant for use by "computer hobbyists."

2. Macintosh - Devloped in 1984, the Macintosh was cheaper and faster than its predecessors and paved the way for desktop publishing as a mainstay of computer use.

4. iTunes Store - Apple didn't put out the first mp3 player, and it didn't provide the first avenue to purchase digital music, but it did make both extremely user-friendly.
